  13. You don't have to be a programmer or a "rocket scientist" to make
  14. KBBS work.  Almost everything is automated for you.  However, if
  15. you want your KBBS to work properly, you need to read and  follow
  16. the instructions in this section carefully.

  18. READ  THIS:  Most  of  the requests for help that are received are
  19. something simple that is explained in this section or in the next
  20. section "OPERATIONS."  When you request technical support, you'll
  21. need to have this manual available, online or hardcopy.  The help
  22. you receive may be something like: "turn to section 203 and read
  23. the second paragraph.  Did you do that?"

  25. NOTICE:  You don't have to print the entire manual...
  26. This  manual is broken down into small files, each of which has a
  27. manual number.  This file is 200, and this section includes the
  28. files 200, 201, 202, and 203.  These files are intended to be
  29. stored on your hard drive in the forums area directory called
  30. "C:\KISSBBS\FORUM\KBBS\MSGS".  You can print any section from the
  31. forums area while reading a message in the KBBS Forums Area by
  32. selecting [P]ut to ... and then selecting [P]rinter.

  34. It is strongly recommended that you print sections as you need to
  35. do things with KBBS, then use a three-hole punch so you can keep
  36. them in a three-ring binder.  This way you can make  notes  about
  37. your usage.

  39. This manual will make installation, setup, and operation of  your
  40. KBBS simple and easy.  Also, you will gain the experience of the
  41. many years of experience that the author has running  a  Bulletin
  42. Board System (first online in 1982 in Florissant, Missouri).
